I finally got my little snowman bound at Sauder. I finished him with a crochet edge using an 8 cut wool strip. It's a sweet little pattern by Star Rug Company. I just love Maria's patterns.
I never get as much hooked at a hook in as I think I will and Sauder was no exception. This is all I got done in two days and the first day I hooked until late in the evening. Now if you are thinking that's not too bad, consider the fact that I am hooking this in mostly a 9.5 and some 8.5s.
Here's the progress I've made since coming home Saturday. At least now I feel as if I've accomplished something. Of course the reds are more muted in person.
I don't know where my time goes in the evening. I am a master at wasting it. {This darned machine doesn't help matters any.} I am determined to hook for an hour each evening. It may not sound like much to you, but for me that's a lot of hooking.
Guess what? NO SNOW today. Woo hoo.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs :)

That is a quick project and that snowman is adorable. Your other rug is zipping along quite nicely. Yeaa, no snow for you.

Hi Lauren,
ReplyDeleteI loved all the rugs from your last post and feel so sad that I lived in OH for many years and never knew about rug hooking!! Boy, did I ever miss the boat!!
I am still hoping to learn.....someday!!
In the meantime, I can admire others rugs and love your newest one you are working on especially!! Hearts are my favorite!
Happy you had a snow free day!!

ReplyDeleteLove the sweet snowman rug, so cute. Beautiful colors in the antique rug, looks beautiful
ReplyDeleteI've never done a crochet edge before and it is on my list to do one day, Mr. Snowman looks great. Love what you've accomplished so far and wonder if you are going to make it into a pillow or hooked mat?
ReplyDeleteSaundra
I always enjoy seeing what you are working on. Sort of gets my motor running so I will get off of the computer and get some hooking done.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad there is no snow today.
loved seeing the rugs from the Sauder hook in - of course with any event like that - the socializing and looking is part of the draw of the event. I'm sure you had a great time and that's all that matter. I'm taking off work next week to go to a nearby guilds hook in that I've been to before so that should be interesting. Cheers Mel
ReplyDeleteLove the snowman. Gues we have more snow moving in on Friday. Welcome to No. Ohio
ReplyDeleteMore snow, yuck! The snowman looks great! I guess though, in order to have a snowman you have to have some snow, so maybe I shouldn't be so quick to say yuck! :)
ReplyDeleteLove your current projects ! I too wonder where does the time go in the evening ?? I always have these big ideas of what I will get accomplished each evening...Ha !

Now I think you are a fast hooker - whenever I get on your blog I see something new you have done.
Happy Valentine's Day
