Still Not Done ~

I thought decorating was going well but I'm still not done.  It seems every evening I am gone for many hours and when I get home accomplish little.  I am so ready to be done!

I bought a new "twig tree" this year.  This is what it looked like after coming out of the box as I was figuring how to arrange the branches. I absolutely hated stringing lights on the tree and this one is pre-lit.

Here it is after I spent a VERY long time fiddling with the branches.

I've finally started hanging the ornaments.  I have many that are heavy and this tree is not well suited for them, but I'm trying . . . sigh.  I still have many, many more to go.

My snowmen ~

Gift from dear friend Wink.

I am not a big fan of LED lights.  I find the color very cold, but I did buy a couple strings of these at Kohl's (50% off + coupon ~ what a racket). They are battery operated and on a very fine wire that can be bent any which way.  I haven't been using them long enough to know how long the batteries will last.

Nothing exciting going on in my life.  I haven't picked up the hook in a week.  Geez, I'd better get busy if I still want to give that Maria snowman as a gift.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs :)
Lauren

  1. Oh no. I love that tree! Never saw one like it. Not too sparse, not too full, skinny needles. I do not need another tree. I do not need another tree. I do not need another tree.....this may take a while.

  8. Love your tree! I got LED white lights last year. I hated them..them I found there are 2 kinds of white LED lights and I wanted Warm White, which are better than the horrible bright bluey white ones...love your decorations...!

  11. You'll get her done. My I love your Snowmen collection. I can see why your tree is difficult to decorate. The branches are so delicate but pretty.

Warm hugs for you and your little furgirl.

  14. I had that same tree many years ago....I loved it too much!
Anyway, we called it my Charlie brown tree...everyone loved it. I just get new ones as I love all the pretty lights.
Off to hang a few more ornies since I found the wire hooks. Those fancy ones don't work as well.

  15. Love your twiggy tree, Lauren! It looks very primitive. You have a terrific snowman collection, too...Mine got so large that it overtook the house, so I sold a bunch of them at a garage sale two years ago.

I agree with you about those bluish white lights....too cold and not primitive.

Your home looks wonderful, of course!

    Hugs, Linda
