Rug Show {part two}


More rugs from the Heavens to Betsy hooking retreat rug show So many beautiful rugs!  I know I enjoy seeing what others hook.  I hope you do, too.

  3. Wow. What fabulous work! That large flower near the end has such detail and you can barely see the bumps. I guess that's using the thinner strips???? I would have spent the whole time looking instead of hooking!

  5. Hi Lauren - you had asked in an early post about ways to "prim" up your hooked piece. There is an excellent post by Rebecca today at www.simplequiet.wordpress.com where she tells about brushing coffee on her finished piece. She is using it on punchneedle but the process would be the same for rugs. Very much what I did with tea (I used a rag instead of a brush) to antique a rug - I prefer tea because I have a hard time getting rid of the coffee smell - but both do a great job of antiquing!

  10. Oh, wow, thanks for posting all these beautiful rugs for inspiration! I have seen that 1847 turkey rug before, do you know who the designer is? I would like the hook that one.

  12. Wowsers....those are some remarkable rugs....I just love that the artistic expression is so very different in each and every rug. My favorite is the flower - the 4th from the last....wow.... Never in my lifetime, I tell ya! Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
