Two Ingredients ~

{My kind of recipe!}

Put fiddle faddle (or Crunch 'n Munch) (I always use the butter toffee flavor) on a wax paper lined cookie sheet in a single layer.  Drizzle with melted chocolate.  Put in the fridge for a couple of minutes for the chocolate to harden.  If there is any left over, store in an airtight container.  YUMMO!

I finished my little cross stitch freebie from Falling Star Primitives.  I made a few small changes ~ the date, the initials and used a couple different floss colors.

It will join my other cross stitch finishes that are not "finished".

Cathy G (Orange Sink) commented that this rug will be a fun one to color plan.  Nah!  To me, color planning is never fun so I plan to hook it very similar to how Maria hooked hers.  I really am wondering how much I can hook in two days.  I plan to hook the bulk of it in a 9 and a 9.5 cut so hopefully I will get a lot of hooking done.

I best get started packing.  Even though it's only one night, I need to pack the phone charger, the camera charger, the laptop cord, etc.  What did we do in the days before we were "connected"?
Pug hugs :)
Lauren

  2. I have to side with Courtney on the Fiddle Fattle!!! LOL!
Best not to even look at it!!
LOVE your cross stitches and I know you can come up with your own original color plan for the doggie rug! Pick a color for the pooch and the others will come calling!!
Hey! Have fun and stay connected!!
    Hugs!

  3. Love the doggie rug! It should work up fairly fast in the wide cuts.

  5. Mmm, looks good especially the choc drizzle. Sweet little stitcheries. I think the counting would drive me nuts now after being away from it so long. Have a fun hookers trip.

  10. Oh but your snack sure looks yummy. Wow, really wide cut and it should go fast. Can't wait to see it finished. And, Lauren, I'm like you I hate color planning and usually take the tried and true one that first got my attention and use similar colors that I may have in my stash.

So much fun to have a hooking event to look forward.

  13. Hi, Lauren:
The doggie ruglet looks like a great first hooking project for me. I've got a few unfinished cross stitched samplers stashed in my needlework bag. I'm having such a time seeing straight on the Polly Daggett I'm working on right now. I'll have to pick a smaller count linen from now on!
Oh, why did you have to show us the Fiddle Faddle and Chocolate?
Mr. Glen Oaks just made Rice Krispie treats today. I'm dyin, here!
    Hugs,
    Susan

  14. Mmm sounds yummy for sure (and easy is the best!) Hope you are having a wonderful time tonight and tomorrow! Color planning. What's that - that's the type of rug to sit with your worm basket and just hook!

  15. Ah Lauren, you are going away with a vengeance. Leaving us to drool over your chocolatety Fiddle Faddle.

Your little doggie rug looks darling. I see a cross stitch with Eema's name on it, and the other about When I'm dead, cracks me up.

I hope that you have a great time. Looking forward to seeing some great pictures. Hugs. JB

  16. Hmmmm....I've never been a Fiddle Faddle fan....maybe 'cuz it's been missing the chocolate??? LOVE your stitches!!! Especially the "Peace on Earth" and "When I am dead....." Too sweet. Who's pattern is "When I am dead"? Don't think I've seen that one before and might have to put it on my dance card. I don't do a whole lot of stitching anymore - maybe one or two pieces a year (hard on these ol eyes) - but I, too, always remember how much I love it when I do do it.....Too late to wish you fun at the hook-in, so I'll just have to read on and catch up....Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
