More from the Sauder Hook-in ~ ~ ~

I thought I'd have many more pictures to share, but I guess I was too busy gabbing and hooking.

Heidi's Rug (Woolnuts)

When I was admiring this rug, I asked the hooker how long it took her and what cut she used.  It took her 4 months which she seemed to think was a long time because it was hooked in a 4 cut and not a 3!

I look at the progress I made in two days and think how could I have gotten so little done since most of it is a 9.5 cut, but then I think, WOW!  I've never hooked so much in two days.  (I told you I was slow!)

The table where we hooked was right next to the snack table (we did not go hungry!) so there was lots of traffic.  If I had a dollar for every time someone commented on the cut I was using, I'd have come home with a mighty thick wallet!
If you live within a few hours of Sauder Village (Archbold, Ohio), you should try to make the hook-in next year (February 1-2).  It is very well organized and the hooking room has great lighting.  It  was a very enjoyable two days!
Pug hugs :)

  1. Love your doggy rug, so sweet. I have never hooked in that width, is it difficult, does it require a bigger hook?

doggy rug is going to be gorgeous.

  9. Thanks so much for sharing the pictures, loved looking at them. Your little dog is coming along nicely. The cut doesn't look that big to me! I've been working in an 8.5 and 9. So I guess yours looks normal lol.
Really soft pretty colors you have chosen. Keep going, you'll be done in no time at all :)

  11. Thanks for posting pictures from the hookin in. My that big rug looks nice.

Your little dog has such a sweet face. I like the colors you used. I'm wondering myself what cut did you use in your rug just so you can get an extra dollar. ha ha.

I'm thinking of you every time I see the little round kitty rug I hooked from your kit. It's very bonding ˆ think. I sit on it when I quilt to keep for comfort. I've been wondering what cut that was too. My cutter cuts from # 3 to #6. Hugs

  12. Thanks for sharing your Sauder pix, Lauren. It is always inspiring to see the rugs others are hooking.

Your puppy rug is looking great, and it makes me want to try a very wide cut rug!

  13. LOVE seeing all the different rugs! Sounds like you had a wonderful time at this hook-in. I hooked one rug with a #9 and it went so fast and was so fun! I need to do that again!

  14. I love that pup! I'm slow too. Well, not necessarily slow, I just don't do a lot of hooking. I have so much cleaning and organizing to do that I feel guilty crafting, so it's put to the side for now.

  16. Well she can have her #3 and #4 cut.... been there and don't like it. I'm a wide cut gal at heart and that is what makes me smile.

Love your dog rug and think you did well; but if you are like me, I cannot open my mouth to talk and pull loops at the same time.
