I think my Annie Banannie may be bipuglar. She has a real Jekyl and Hyde personality. One minute she can be the most loving girl ever and in the next moment, she is barking and bordering on snarly! She even bit me the other day when I tried to break up an altercation between her and Loocie. Annie thought she was entitled to a treat but Loocie was not.
Ohio Pug Rescue has provided me with a Thunder Shirt to see if it can lessen her barking. According to their website, the shirt not only can help with anxiety, it sometimes can help with barking.
I just received it today but I am hoping for positive results. Here she is modeling it.
Daddy (aka DSO Fritz) is out of town for a few days, so Loocie is staying with me and Annie. Loocie is so funny. She always "hides" under chairs.
She is getting so grey!
Doesn't she look forlorn?
Annie still being so much the puppy at a year and a half wants to play so badly. Loocie will have nothing to do with it! Here is a rare picture of the two of them (almost) together.
Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
Pug hugs :)

Awwww! Annie and Loocie are sooo adorable. Love the pictures!
ReplyDeleteOhhhh...Poor lil' Loocie....She looks like my lil' Gazoo when the Snow Dog wants to play....Hmmm..."Thunder Shirt"...think it'll work on my DH??? ;o) Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
ReplyDeleteHa-ha-ha! I love it, Thunder Shirts for DH's!!! Where do we get them???
ReplyDeleteI hope it works on Annie. Barking is good for emergencies, but not all the time. Learning to know the difference is the tough part.
I think Loocie must feel protected sitting under a chair. Our cats do that when they feel a bit threatened. Good luck with the two of them together.
poor loocie looks like she is not to happy. I hope the shirt helps
ReplyDeleteand you don't get bit again.
Cathy
BiPuglar - you crack me up! I agree with Pat - thunder shirts for people - i'd buy one! Poor Loocie - she looks like "Mom,will you please do something"! Great pics of them
ReplyDeleteAwww... poor Loocie! Makes me want to pick her up and give her a hug! I hope the thunder thingie helps with annie... so much spunk!
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of a thunder shirt. I hope it works (for all of your sakes). Poor Loocie. She looks so sad. I just want to cuddle her. Give her an extra hug from me and Millie.
ReplyDeleteOh my Loocie does just look so sad.
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweetie.
I will be interest to know how the Thunder shirt works I have heard of them. Let us know.
Happy pug hugs to you.
I've never heard of the thunder shirt either. sure hope it helps. the pictures and their faces are priceless! Too sweet....
ReplyDeleteI love Pat's comment about getting a Thunder shirt for DH. ha ha ha. I'd get a couple of them for my DH, ha ha ha... Hope it helps with the barking.
ReplyDeletePoor Loocie, she is so sensitive and she looks like she ready to cry, she misses her Daddy so much. Just give her a piece of clothing that her Daddy wore and still has his scent in it, she'll love that. I used to do that with my little Peppy. He would cuddle up on it.
Have a great weekend. JB
Hmmm, bi-polar... never thought of that as a condition for dogs but guess it is possible. Sure hope like heck my Ben doesn't have that condition a bite from a big Rottie mouth would not be so pleasant.
ReplyDeleteYou'll have to let us know how the ThunderShirt works out....they have them at the pet store up the street and I feel like I should get one to try out on Lonnie when it storms.
ReplyDeleteOh Lauren,
ReplyDeleteThe girls are so cute! And Annie sounds like she thinks she's the alpha dog! I hope the Thundershirt works as I've heard of them and considered one for our Smokey who has anxiety at times and barking unfortunately is a dogs way of dealing. Good luck with Annie B and I hope for Loocie's sake DSO gets back soon!
Hugs!

Ha! Bipuglar...that is a good one.
ReplyDeleteNow Lauren don't laugh but my little shitzu Indy thatI had before Maulie who I dearly loved. Well I took her to the vet and she did similar personality reactions calm them nippy especially protecting her toy box and with groomers and anyone like the vet techs. We would always warn them because she seemed like she was fine and then attack.
ReplyDeleteWell the vet said she was a little bit Bi polar plus more socialization.Hug Cheri I loved Indy but she was a three person dog.
