My goal at the end of my Jenny Smallridge class was to hook one "motif" (triangle, hexagon or tongue) daily along with the surrounding dark background. I was hoping to have it all hooked by mid August. The best laid plans of mice and men. It got set aside to bind America Banner (pattern by Cathy Stephan, Red Barn Rugs), which I am happy to say is complete except for the label.
Nancy (The Wooden Folks) said she is able to get the most accurate color on a picture taken with an iPad. Thanks for the tip, Nancy. This is much more accurate than I normally get.
Now I am back to hooking my antique adaptation started in the Jenny class. I am a couple motifs behind but (fingers crossed) I can get my momentum back.
Tomorrow I am heading to Hook & Thread. It is a hike there, but such a great group of hookers.
I was scheduled for possible jury duty on Tuesday but have already been notified the trial has been canceled.
Other than that, just busy as always trying to keep caught up on life!
Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs 😊
Lauren
I recently took a photo with my iPad (Horse and scrolls) and liked the results better than with my camera. Perhaps that should be my go to camera. Hope your momentum continues and with hooking tomorrow you'll get even more accomplished. Great finish on America and great results on the hearts.
ReplyDeleteYour America banner turned out great...hope you shared with Cathy. Re photos...so weird. I struggle with getting accurate colors, etc. but the worst of the lot is any photo taken on my Ipad. Given my poor (basically non-existent) cell reception here and my trouble with eyes and hands, I use my Ipad 10 to 1 over my cell phone. But photos? I don't think I've ever taken a decent one on my Ipad... They turn out fuzzy, off-color and just BAD. Glad it works for you though! Have fun tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteA Sunday hello to all of you... Andreja and the pug Ula!
ReplyDeleteGoals are a good thing but I think you hookers are too hard on yourselves. To my eye, even a small piece from start to finish is ambitious. America banner is so nice and the hearts and diamonds piece is very pretty. I love its colors.
ReplyDeleteHave fun, be careful driving home. Those antique shop crossings are distracting.
ReplyDeleteSo love our America rug. Colors are fantastic. Jury duty. UGH but we all must do it. Have fun on your latest trip. Janice
