I assumed (and you know what happens when you assume!) everyone was tired of seeing my deer rug that was started at camp in January. Saundra wanted to know if I finished the binding, and yes, so here it is. It's ok but definitely not one of my favorite rugs. The rug doesn't really have a name. Perhaps I should just call it Damn Deer.
I have been slowly working on America Banner by Red Barn Rugs. I have had the pattern forever so it's the perfect time to hook it. I see I need to remove those few very light strips . . . or add some to the I C A.
Tomorrow morning I leave for rug class in PA. I will be meeting up with my hooking partner in crime Sue. We are looking forward to another class with Katie Hartner, owner of the Woolley Fox. I have chosen to hook one of her antique adaptations, Indian Peace Flag. I am in a very patriotic hooking mode.
One version of many I have found online. Saundra is just hooking the canton. See the start of hers here.
Those of you who have followed me for a while know that I have not yet begun to pack. I did get the lawn mowed so now it's time!!! It will get done, it always does 😁
Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs 😊
Lauren

I don't get tired of seeing any rugs by any of you talented hookers. I live vicariously through you all. I once hooked two things from kits and while I do enjoy seeing them I just didn't enjoy the process. So you see, I really do appreciate the work you all put into your projects.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your rug class! and you will be brace free yay!!
Your version of the 'damn deer', is much better without the gills and saddle blanket (as you commented in a post). Well done!!! Goodness, you're almost half done with the America banner and looks fantastic. Guess you'll be working on that while waiting for your teacher. Yes, I'm just doing just the Canton. Just couldn't do part of the stripes as that would bug me every time I looked at it.
ReplyDeleteLOL on not packing yet. Love your America rug thus far. Do agree on adding more white or removing it. Damn deer is mighty fine to me. Janice
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful time!

Like Maureen said, I never tire of seeing your beautiful rugs...and, also the part about her living vicariously. I do enjoy the process but it hurts. The America banner rug is looking great. I know I will be odd-one out, but I like the quirkiness of those rogue lighter strips. Have a wonderful time!
ReplyDeleteThe flag design is wonderful. I really like the deer! You should always have a go-to bag that is packed and ready to grab. As soon as you come home, wash and pack again! Always on call.
ReplyDeleteYour Damn Deer looks great !!!! And so does your America !!! Another rug hooking camp !!! Lucky You !!! Hava a Great time !!!
