For the next four to five weeks 😢
Two plus weeks ago I took a nasty fall in the yard . . . tripped over a hose guide. For over two weeks, I tried to convince myself that is was just bad sprain. When the pain and weakness did not lessen, I finally went to my PCP who was pretty sure the hand was broken. Of course an X-ray confirmed that. Went to an ortho doc who gave me the option of a cast or this brace. The brace seemed like a much better choice to me, but darn, my hand actually feels worse with it on. And of course it is my RIGHT hand 😡
Unpleasant things I have discovered. It is nearly impossible to button your jeans with this thing on. Turning the ignition switch in the Rogue takes two hands. My writing wasn't great to begin with but now looks like chicken scratch. Hooking? Difficult and slow, but doable!!!
But as DSO pointed out, I must look at the bright side. I did not break my hip.

I think you are lucky you can wear that sturdy brace , a cast would be more difficult ...4-5 weeks will seem like an eternity , but will go by fast . Hope you heal quickly and get back to hooking !!!! You might just have to enjoy visiting friends and shopping for treasures instead ! LOL
ReplyDeleteYou and I are accidents just waiting for an opportunity to happen. Your arm and my leg. Fritz was right, at least it wasn't a hip. and Marly was right about the teeth missing. An inconvenience I'm sure but the cast would have been even worse me thinks.

ReplyDeleteI told you you were moving too fast these days. ;-) What the heck Sissy??? Is this fall #3 now? And such an inconvenient time for it to happen. No time is"convenient," but with all the summer chores ahead of you. Hoping and sending up prayers for quick and full healing.
