Any of you who have been reading my blog for a while, know that I have my doctorate in procrastination. This time was going to be different. HA!!! The road to hell is paved with good intentions.
Maybe if I hadn't decided to dye a few pots of wool??? This is one of my favorite dye recipes and had not dyed it in years. I dyed three pots of varying strength. A little more drab in person. Not sure if it will work in my camp rug, but I am loving it.
Instead of packing for camp, I decided I need to make some paisley hook pouches for the camp consignment store. They don't look like much, but I am just incredibly slow and they are taking forever. I am hoping to defray as much of the rug camp costs as I can!
Yesterday the weather in Jacksonville was scheduled for a high of 81*. While we are there, it will be 25*-35* colder. I know that's better than Ohio weather will be, but I am still a bit bummed.
I was supposed to have a hooking play day on Tuesday which would have me gone most of the day. A selvedge project was planned and I was providing the selvedges, so thought I couldn't cancel. Thankfully the hooker closest to me (about 40 minutes) is going and will take them for me. That takes some of the pressure off!!!
Ok. Time to work some more on the pouches.

Your pile of dyed wool looks so pretty and perfect for your project ! Those pouches you are sewing are so pretty ! I'm sure you will enjoy the Sun and it will still feel so good , 80's will be too Hot !!! LOL Hope you are near the ocean , so you can walk the beach !
ReplyDeleteAll those textures sure look familiar and were or still may be in my stash. I'm sure your adaptation of the deer rug will be at least, if not better, than mine. Good luck with sales at the camp shop.

So...why, exactly, to you care what the temp will be if you are supposed to be in camp hooking??? LOL. JK....I'd trade you spots in heartbeat. While I will be at the lake, the "high" will be 3º...and the low in the minuses...all without windchill factored in. Great pattern choice - I'm sure you will do it up something good. Love the wool colors!! Same travels...and have fun. Glad you managed to gain a day by skipping the "playday"... Wish I could find an extra day. At this point, it's more like I'm losing a day as things keep getting heaped on instead of removed.

Safe travels to Florida. Not sure why you would care about the weather though unless your camp is outside, but any hoot hope you have a grand time. Your rug choice is great and so is your dyed wool. Janice
ReplyDeleteOh that paisley on those sweet pouches! That rug will be great. I think a warmer tone will look nicer for them. They look taupe on my tablet. An opinion from a no talent non hooker.
