Progress ~

I started Antique Floral at rug camp just over a month ago.  It is one of my largest rugs to date.  I have been hooking on it faithfully each day and it seems to be taking forever.  I love the look of the antigodlin hooking, but still haven't become a fan.  The outer border is also to be hooked that way.  (Sorry the picture is so washed out.)  I still haven't pulled a loop on Tulip.

Went to an outdoor craft event last weekend and came home with this very cool plant.  I was not looking for a houseplant but this one was just calling my name.  It's a euphorbia tirucalli, also known as a pencil cactus (though not a true cactus).  It only needs to be watered once a month during the spring, summer and fall and not at all during the winter.  Talk about a low maintenance plant :)

Rug labeling is proceeding.  I've gotten 12 labels sewn on and if I counted rugs without missing any, I have 18 more to go.  Thank goodness for my blog or I would have no idea when they were hooked.  I found one from 2012 that has not been labeled.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs :)
Lauren

Hi Lauren,
Your rug is just wonderful!!! LOVE the colors and I think you are doing a great job!! We are our own worst critics, so friends can be so helpful, can't they?
I have seen those plants out here in AZ and many people have them in pots in their yards!!
Hope it grows well for you and who doesn't love low maintenance? If I had it, it would be dead in no time as I have NO green thumb at all!!! All I can grow is weeds!!!
Great job on making all those rug labels, too!! You sure have hooked a LOT of rugs!!!
Hope you had a lovely Mother's Day and have a great week!

What is antigodlin hooking? I like what you're doing. Very pretty.

I say hook the border the way you want to hell with the higgly piggly (antigodlin)look. Looks like your plant could also be called antigodlin style.

Your rug is beautiful, love the colors you used.
That is a neat plant and nice that it doesn't need a lot of watering.

The rug is a beauty and I am admiring the fact that you are sticking with it despite disliking the hooking method. And all of those labels!! I am impressed!! What an interesting plant...and low maintenance at that!!

Your rug looks fantastic. It may be tedious hooking the antigodlin way but it gives the rug a richer look.
You are so productive.
Have a great rest of the week.

I am really, really, loving this rug Lauren....Love the antigodlin effec. I actually made a trip down to Cathy’s yesterday...I tried to describe this to her, but had forgotten the name, and obviously my description was a bit incoherent.... I am sure she knows the technique, but she looked at me a bit strangely as I was trying to explain it LOL. I wish I had thought of labels way back when... I just dug out what is probably the largest rug I’ve hooked and have no clue when I hooked it (other than long time ago) and had even forgotten the designer.... Thankfully Cathy remembered the rug and knew the designer too. Lord I am really losing it LOL. ~Robin~

PS...Love your funky plant.... but I would likely overwater it...like I do most all of my plants. ;-)

Love the look of your rug. You're really making great progress. I can't even remember the last time I held my hook. :( I have to have plants in my home. I have an aloe in our master bath window that thrives there even with all the humidity. Very fun plant you have there.
