Bitter Cold ~

Here on Ohio's north coast, our official snow tally was just 7".  Now that's 7" more than I would prefer, but much less than many other places.  The snow would not be so bad if it weren't for the horrific winds and falling temperatures.  Tomorrow the high is predicted to be 11* with a low of -3*.  Then by Wednesday it will be up to 42*.  If you don't like the weather in Ohio, stick around for a day and it will change.  The puppies sure don't like this weather :(

I've been having fun working on my little hit and miss rug and of course I'm not even making a dent in the worms.  The only wool that has been cut has been the gray/black dividing bands.  I am 2/3 of the way done.  Before I planned this one, I had planned on doing the exact same thing on a much larger scale.  My upstairs landing is screaming for a hooked rug.  I am planning on something about 4' x 6', by far my largest rug ever.  I'm sure I will have more than enough worms and narrow bits of wool to cut in to worms.

Cindy Lou Who is doing good but will still not drink plain water from her bowl.  I heeded the suggestion of mixing in some sodium free broth.  I used a ratio of 2 parts water to 1 part broth and she couldn't drink fast enough.  She is my little shadow following me up and down the stairs.  Thankfully she has not had a problem with the hardwood stairs.  Many dogs will not go up and down them and if they do, lose their footing and go tumbling down.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Stay warm and safe.
Pug hugs :)
Lauren

Well we had 5 inches of snow and now it is 15 below with windchill. UGH. Maybe someday I will be able to do a large rug. I don't feel much of a pro to do this yet, so I continue to practice on small ones. You do such fine work as always! Glad CLW is drinking and feeling better. Janice

No diaper on her! Assuming her surgery cured her problem and she is healing nicely. Cats ran from garage to back door this morning and never left. Cleaning litter boxes all day! We may be 40 Wednesday but it's going to take 70 for 14" to melt! I hate those 10 foot high walls of dirty snow at the plaza.

I'm so glad Miss CLW is doing so well and that she is now drinking from her dish. I knew she would love you. Dogs are smart and they recognize a caring person.
I love the colors you are using in your hit and miss. With those wide strips, it should be done in no time.
The storm is over but I don't even know how much snow we got but we got plenty. My husband is out plowing the stuff.
We didn't see the moon last night, just snow.
Enjoy your day.
Hugs, Julia

So happy your pooch is doing well post-op. Love the pic of her and Miss E. and your fellow. They certainly look like contented pups. Your fellow looks content as well :) Love the rug...I'm such a slug these days...no hooks, no needles. Spending time cleaning out and purging. I never even brought the Christmas boxes down from the attic this year. Had enough stored inside to do a sufficient job of decorating. What does that mean?

Have a great week,
Robyn

I have to say I DON'T MISS those cold OH winters!!! I feel so bad for all of you who deal with the cold and S--W each year!!! Wish I could send you all boxes filled with our sunshine!!!
Love your new rug and one of these days I am going to surprise everyone, including myself, and pull out the old hook and work on something!!! Just so busy punching special orders lately!!
So happy CLW is doing so well and that you were able to discover how to get her to drink!! She is such a sweet girl!!
Hope you stay safe and warm, and have a great week, my friend!!

That is cold weather!! My goodness. Its 40 degrees here and I am freezing.
Your hit and miss rug is great. I am doing a rug from just left over worms that are 9 1/2 from worms Jacque sent me a long time ago. I have never used any that wide before and I love them so much. I love how it looks. That has been fun for me. I am working on it today. Yay.
I think Miss Cindy Lou Who looks like such a sweetie pie. I am so glad she has you.
I hope you have a lovely day,

I’m still here.... ;-). Well, the snow thing stinks, but thinking you are loving not having to deal with the calls at work anymore LOL... The snow is supposed to reach us finally tomorrow morning....only 6” they are saying, but horrific winds (of course) and then even colder temps....not even above 0 for highs by the end of the week. Think I may just be taking a “pass” on this weekend’s snowmobile race.... Even a heated private booth ain’t warm enough for those temps. Your mat is looking great...you really are one fast hooker. ;-). Glad to hear Cindy is drinking....but hope she doesn’t get spoiled on that “special water.” Smiles & Monday Hugs ~ Robin

Sounds like good weather to stay in and hook. Low sodium chicken broth is a staple in my house for sick dogs and people always does the trick.
