Less is More {but not at my house . . . sigh} ~

I admire those who can simplify.  Those who can purge.  Sadly I am not one of them and probably never will be.  I start to bring the Christmas boxes down from the attic and just can't help but put most of it out.  That does not include the boxes and boxes that I have not used in years.  Do I know what's in those boxes?  Well, uh, mostly no.  Can I part with anything?  Most likely not.  So . . . I will decorate and decorate and decorate some more.  At least Thanksgiving was early this year and not working does make it easier to get things done.

Thanksgiving was nice.  I don't know if I mentioned but my California son came home for for ten days.  He hasn't been here that long since he moved away.  It's wonderful to have him home.  Think good thoughts that he will be moving back to Las Vegas soon.  He is so ready.  He is just not the California guy.

I could not get my sons to move close enough to get them in one picture.   (Plus, I don't know how to set the camera to compensate for the light coming in the windows.)

"winter face"

My brother Bill and his DSO Lyn host Thanksgiving each year.  For the last 5 or 6 years, Bill has been measuring Jake and my great nieces.  Unfortunately, this was the first year the girls were unable to come in from Chicago.  I knew Jake had grown a lot, but had no idea he had grown 4 1/2 inches in the last year.  He is no longer a little boy.

I am still hooking gifts and hopefully will have a couple finishes to show you soon.

I hear Pretty Girl is doing great in her forever home.  I sure do miss that little stinker.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs :)
Lauren

Hell no, I can't simplify either but think you are worse than me. Love your boys' photos and know there is more I wanted to say but can't remember. Am sure I'll comment again.

Wow. Jake is looking like a young man. A handsome young man! We'll miss seeing Pretty Girl in your posts, so glad she is doing well.

I know the feeling, I really need to purge and figure if I sell half of it, I can use the money to fix up the house, so that gives me incentive. Love seeing your family and nice that you could be together. I remember seeing photos of Jake when he was little, he sure has grown into a handsome young man.

I know exactly what you mean! I am attached to everything for sentimental reasons lol. It takes me 2 - 3 days to put out all my Christmas. DH can't understand why I do it ;)

Wow Jake has really grown up! What a handsome boy! How nice your sons were both home this year. I love seeing all of your really unique things you decorate with. I just love every thing. I would love to walk through it in person. I am so glad that cute little doggy is in her forever home, but I just love that picture you have of her. She is just so cute. Have a great time decorating.

I'm looking forward to seeing all your many decorations Lauren. They must be worth a fortune by now and the collections keep growing. Putting it away is also a big task. Better you than me, lol.

I'm glad Pretty girl has found a happy fur-ever home.

Awww Lauren, I miss pretty girl and her so sweet face an antics.
Wished we were younger so we could get out of CA. both my son and SIL want to leave but the wives are not so willing. So here we are and will stay put.
WoW, 4 1/2" in a year. That's a lot of growing and he is so handsome to boot. We will decorate, but not so much this year. We already got rid of so much stuff. Gives me room for new stuff. Can't wait to see all your stuff.
Have a great week and Fun with all that stuff.
Folk Art Hugs and Blessings for all,
Barb

Should I say that I have boxes from our 1985 move to this house and I've never opened them? No, probably not. LOL I don't feel bad about getting rid of things, unless it is my stash. I'm planning for retirement. LOL

Your "boys" are all so handsome. Next time, put your mom face on and tell them that they WILL sit next to each other for a picture. LOL Sometimes it works!

Have a wonderful week!
