Crazy Busy ~

I had no idea I could possibly be this busy in retirement.  I thought I would have so much time to hook and stitch and do all sorts of fun stuff.  HA!  I haven't pulled a loop in what seems like weeks.  If I make it until Saturday I will finally be able to breathe.  The ATHA biennial is in Cleveland this year.  This afternoon I went and helped set up the backboards for the rug display.  Tomorrow I will attend the rug show and shop the vendors.  (Now that could be dangerous!)  Thursday I am back again taking a class with Cynthia Norwood.  Rumor has it that this is the last class she will be teaching.  She is one of the reasons I fell so in love with primitive rug hooking.  I read her first book from cover to cover.

I will probably need to leave class a little early (darn) because I need to head to the Pine Tree Barn in Wooster to set up for another hooking event, Hooked in the Valley, where friend Melissa and I are vending.  If you are anywhere in the area, be sure to stop by.  There is no charge to enter.

Pretty Girl was suffering from some severe intestinal distress.  Her med kicked in, but today she would not drink any water.  I tricked her by adding water to her chicken and rice and she gobbled it all down.  What a little stinker.

Last week at guild, Halloween rugs and such were displayed.  Here is a sampling of them.

And lastly, remember my goldenrod dye pot  faux pas?  (I glugged bleach instead of vinegar.)  The wool got mixed in with other wool so no picture, but surprisingly I did not ruin it.  It just turned out a little more mustardy/yellow than the previous ones so for that I am happy.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs :)
Lauren

I always mix water with food when Bean needs more water, good way to get them to take it. Love the halloween pieces, so fun.

You are so busy. Nice busy though. I just can't imagine all of those rug hooking things to get to go do. I think I would love to do that. I love those rugs and I am glad your wool turned out. Drive safe dear Lauren.

Am envious of you visiting ATHA tomorrow and having a class with Cynthia. I've never had a class with her but she visited Barb during our class there a few years ago and had lunch with us gals.

I guess being retired doesn't mean sitting around watching TV all day. You're getting to do things that you enjoy and you can do more of the fun things than before.

I'm so envious of you. I've been super busy lately and can't do all that needs to be done and soon we will have snow o the ground and it will be time to decorate the Christmas tree. sigh...

The rugs are all fun. I know you'll enjoy every minute of your busyness.
Hugs, Julia

Lauren, I just picked some golden rod. Could you please share with me how to dye wool with it? Loved your results but have no clue where to begin. Thank you.
