I've Been So Close ~

I've been close to finishing Lancaster Barnyard by Notforgotten Farm for over a week and finally took the hour I needed to pull the last loops.

In the meantime, I've started to make a few sunflowers.  Some of these will go on old bedsprings.  In October I am vending at Hooked in the Valley in Wooster, Ohio and since it is being billed as more than a hook in, I'm hoping to have some finished goods for sale, too.

Next on the frame?  I haven't a clue but it really should be a Christmas gift.  I have several gifts I'd like to make, but I usually run out of time.

Here are a few more rugs from rug week at Sauder Village.  I can't believe I haven't found the time to post them.  (And there are yet more to show.)  These were guild challenges.  I hope you can enlarge the pictures and read about them.

I can't remember for sure, but I think these rugs were hanging in Ali Strebel's booth.  I am a huge fan of Maria Barton's work.

I love how she finished the edges.

The weather here on Ohio's north coast has been more fall-like than August-like.  Yesterday was October-like.  Oh, and today is September.  I know I say it every month, but how can it be?  I must say, it is good weather for sleeping :)

I don't watch the news on television, but the pictures I've seen on the internet of Houston are heartbreaking.  My thoughts and prayers are with those whose lives have been affected by Harvey.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs :)
Lauren

Hi Lauren, we are having showers on and off today and it feels cool. I can't believe that September is here already either.
Your Lancaster barnyard rug is really beautiful.

It's amazing at the different color combinations of wool used to hook rugs using the same pattern.

Thanks for the rug show. I'm due for a little nap before going to the barn.

Hugs, Julia

what a great rug! I am glad you are finishing. Love the rug show. I am so horrified by the flooding in Texas.

Oh but that was a fun post and think I'll come back to look again later today. I also have Lancaster Barnyard pattern but haven't pieced it together even. Yours turned out lovely.

Hi Lauren,
I just love your new rug!! It is really wonderful and I'm sure you are thrilled with it!! Wish you could send us some of your weather!! We seem to have taken everyone else's summer temps and kept them here in AZ!! No fall weather in sight here and between 104 and 108 this weekend!!!
The rug show is so impressive and I know you enjoyed being there!! My heart goes out to all those who have struggled with the hurricane and am so thankful to see the country pull together to offer help!!
Hope you have a wonderful Labor Day Weekend!
Heart Hugs~

Congrats on finishing Lancaster Barnyard! All of the rugs on display are a lot of fun...love to see how the same pattern can be interpreted in so many colorways! I have to say Thank You for putting a pic of little Ernestine on the side of your blog... she's such a sweetheart...makes me smile each time I see the pic! :-)

Hi Lauren, Lovely pictures and lovely rug. I am glad you finished. I haven't been able to take anymore of the pictures I have seen either. Its currently 109 outside. 63 days over 100! Have I hooked. No, but I stare at my rug that sits there forlorn. Maybe next week. :) We might cool down. Have a lovely weekend.

Just adore your Lancaster Barnyard...congrats. I still have that Karen Kathleen pattern set aside...someday, right? I love Maria's rugs, too. Have never seen the pattern of the little girl with dog, but I have had that print hanging in my house for years.

The old maids made me giggle. How fun those must have been to hook. It amazes me how colors can change everything. Your rug looks amazing! Hope you had a great weekend! Janice
