Wowza! How can it already be the end of October? I am so not ready for the cold and snow. Hopefully this winter won't be a repeat of last year.
It's the start of leaf pick in the City. That's my department . . . sigh. We've had dozens of calls so far and it will get much worse before it gets better. Leaves are a really big issue to some people.
Antiquing . . .
Yesterday I went antiquing hoping to find some kind of shelves/cupboard for my wool room. Yes, I am still folding wool and running out of room. I have just one small space where I could squeeze a small piece, but didn't find anything that could work. I found some good bigger pieces, but they were just too large for the space I have to work with. Why is it that when you have a bit of cash to buy something, nothing can be found? I did pick up a couple small things, but nothing worth sharing.
The wool room . . .
Why do things have to get worse before they start getting better? The project is so overwhelming to me that I have to work on it a bit each day. I am ready to be done but that isn't happening for a while.
Santa and Sheep . . .
It's long overdue, but I'm almost done with my Santa and Sheep rug. I still have to hook Santa's face and reverse hook a few loops. The good news is that it will be done very soon. The bad news is that I will have another rug to bind and I'm behind again.
That's about it from this Ohio hooker. Sure do wish I had something exciting to share, but I don't. If you looked up the word boring in the dictionary, you'd find my picture.

Happy What's-Left-of-the Weekend my friend..... Yes, I just figured out this is the last weekend in October.... Boo hoo...that means it's winter here in Nod. Today, tho, is beautiful.... Should be outside doing something, but too many indoor things have me preoccupied. I love your beautiful stacks of wool.... Oooo, I so know what you mean. I used to stack wool for my friend Cathy (the rug hook designer down the road)... What torture for someone who is as OCD as me....None of the pieces the same size, colors that could be yellow or white, ugh.... I think she figured out it was not my "thing" and relieved me of my duties. ;-) Hope all is well with you....Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
Well,I for one never think that you're boring... au contraire , my friend, you are living a very exciting life with the constant hookin and antiquing and trips you take.
It may be time to slow down and you'll have all of winter to sort out your wool room.
I agree that October is flying by too fast and I hate seeing the cold take over. My old bones don't like the cold and slippery underfoot.
I usually mulch all my leaves so I don't need to bother with the leaf pickup. It all returns in the soil instead of the city composting site.

Oh Lauren... you make me laugh!! You're never boring... always so good at updating your blog... I am shamed as I'm not very good at it! So glad you are taking the step at a time program for organizing wool! It's well worth the effort and you will reap the benefits soon! I like to use safely pins and pin a corner through of the folded pieces to keep them together when I go rooting through my cupboards trying find the right color! You need a ton of safely pins but it really works to keep things tidy! Hope you find the perfect cupboard too... they are getting scarcer than hen's teeth around here!!

you're not even close to boring...coming from someone who totally is! wool only stays nice when you don't disturb it by using it...hence my gorgeous stacks...hope your part of Ohio is a gorgeous as mine today...clear blue skies and breezy...
You know Lauren, I love hooking so much, I love reading about getting your wool folded and finding a place for it all. I think it just sounds so nice. I have to ask though, what is a leaf picker? What does that mean. I have never heard those phrases and I just can't imagine.

It's leaf pick up week here too. People miss the deadline and then call and fib that their leaves were out and the truck just passed them by. Sighhhh
About your cabinet, you must know some talented woodworker people who could make you a prim cabinet. That's what I'm doing

Gal, if it is any comfort I also get behind and behinder too. I'd be totally embarrassed to show you MY wool room. Have even thought about selling 1/4 yards of similar or complimentary colors on ebay just to get rid of some.
