Magdalena Class ~

Last night was hooking with Mags (aka Katie of Kid'l de Divey Woolens) at the Chairmaker and Friends in Vermilion, Ohio.  Katie is just an absolute hoot and the sweetest and most generous hooker you will ever meet.  She even dressed for the part and talked about her life as Magdalena Briner Eby.

Here's Mags (as we were told we could call her) drawing Melissa's runner.

Claudia is a true newbie hooker.  Here she is pulling her first loops.

Arlene is off to a great start on her footstool.  I wish I had taken a picture of the really cool footstool Mags found at the antique shop for her.

My runner.  At 15" x 46" it will be the largest rug I've hooked to date.

So far, I've decided on a blue rooster . . .

. . . and an orangey bird.

I wish I had taken a pic of the runner and footstool Mags hooked but didn't think of it until after the fact :(

Lookee what came in the mail!  I haven't yet tried it.  That's next on tonight's agenda.  I better get my taxes done so I can get my refund to pay for it . . . lol!  April is a busy hooking month for me (one retreat and two hook-ins) so I wanted to get it in time.

Tomorrow I've taken a vacation day.  I'd like to say I am going to hook the day away, but something even more important.  Grandson Jake and I are off to the indoor amusement park in Cleveland.  One advantage to being old is that I get in free :)

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs :)
Lauren

Your runner is going to look nice and it's rather a large size. it's a good thing that you got all those other rugs finished so you can concentrate on this one.

I'm glad that you had fun with the Magdalena classes. That frame looks like it's calling you.
Have fun with jake and take advantage of getting in for free.
Hugs,
JB

First, Have fun with Jake. I didn't know there is an indoor amusement park in Cleveland - you will have to give me a review and let me know if my kids would like it.

Second, I wish I didn't live 3 hours away - I'd have been there with you last night. FUN! Thanks for sharing the photos. ~Ann

Oh...that looks like such a fun class! I am so happy to see someone else take on an "ambitious" project!!! Every time I look at my lion rug (26x52) I mutter to myself that I must be crazy...but then, I hook a little, and I'm happy I took the plunge into another large rug. Your runner is going to be wonderful! Love the colorful critters already!
Have fun with Jake today!

Hi Lauren - what a great group of ladies to hook with.
I must say I was looking at the birds you started on your rug and I could just cry at how beautiful your turns (corners/points) are...for the life of me I can not do this.
I need a lesson and there is just nothing close by me. I can not drive 3 hours for a lesson.

Hi, Lauren,
I am so envious!! You get to go so many neat places. The hook-in looks like so much fun, and I love your bird and rooster! I hope that you and dear Ellie are getting along well, and that neither of you are mourning too much.
