This 'n That ~

Thank you so much for all your comments on my pumpkin.  The only wool I pulled out of the pumpkin was the two strips of solid colored wool that seemed to stick out like a sore thumb and now I love it!!!  The more I hook, the more I prefer textured wools.  I did take your advice and reverse hook the stem in a darker brown.  If you read my previous post about the pumpkin you will know that I am not hooking a background.  This has now joined my ever-growing stack of hooked but not "finished".

I still have so much to share about Heavens to Betsy rug camp but just can't get my thoughts together to write in a cohesive manner.
Here are Betsy (R) and Bev (L) our camp "counselors" :)  What a fun pair they are!

Bev taught a great class on alternative techniques.  Here are the samples I made.

These are some of the items we received in our goodie bag.

A few of the things I won in some of the challenges during camp.  There were lots of prizes to be won!

Fun wool felted balls I bought in the camp store.

Tonight I went to a Chick-Fil-A for the first time ever.  To me it was NOT a gay rights issue.  It was a freedom of speech issue.  Everyone in the crowd waited patiently.  It took us almost an hour and a half to get our "fast" food and when we left the line was as long as when we arrived.  GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!

Thanks for stopping by!
Pug hugs :)

Love the pumpkin!! Guess your right people can say whatever they want doesn't mean you have to agree with them.

Love all your goodies, Lauren! One day I would love to go to that camp...I don't know what's going on at the Chicken place (there's none around my place) but good for you for taking a stand! I heard their sandwiches we delicious! See you in a couple of weeks!

Your pumpkin looks fabulous! And you certainly won some great goodies at camp!

Chick-fil-A has always been a favorite restaurant of mine. I'm really disgusted by the way people are jumping on him because he did not speak the "politically correct comment". I admire him for his honesty! And you're right... it really is about freedom of speech more than anything.

nothing like a white pumpkin...love it!

I was at Chick-fil-A too yesterday...it only took me 20 minutes...but by the time I left it was getting crazy...I too think it's a freedom of speech issue...the beauty of our country...

Thanks for making a STATEMENT in solidarity for what is RIGHT in America.

Love your pumpkin and glad you didn't rip out a whole bunch and that you are happy with it now. I saw a hand torn hooked cat in the latest ATHA magazine and now with your pumpkin want to try it myself.

Pumpkin is cute as can be. I just might have to try the larger strips.

And I echo your sentiments - God Bless America and what it stands for.

Lauren - Me thinkks you might have had a little TOO much fun at rug camp? LOL Like everyone else who has commented, I like your white pumpkin too - I'm not into Halloween, so I like that you didn't make it a JOL. Chick-fil-A is one of my favorite places to eat - YUM!
