Havin' a Ball ~

I should have posted this while ball season was in full swing, but just got around to painting one this weekend.  Perhaps your kids or grands have an old ball laying around they'd be happy to part with.  I used acrylic paints and then antiqued it.  A few in an old wooden bowl would be fun for the 4th of July.
Isn't the bear just the sweetest?  Hooker friend Jane's mom Ruth (that's a mouthful!) was a well know bear maker back in the 80's (?) and Jane gifted me with this treasure.

There must have been ten birds bathing in the birdbath the other day, but every time I tried to get a pic, most of them flew away.

They have been enjoying the little sun dial birdbath, too.

Butterflies really do like the butterfly bush :)

Jake's self portrait.  I still am not used to seeing him with teeth . . . lol!

Thanks for stopping by.
Pug hugs :)

Ha! Thought I was caught up here for a brief moment...guess not! ;o) LOVE the ball! And just when I vowed to get rid of my paints and painting supplies. Sweet birdies - that sundial is great on the flower pot. And - yikes - Jake is getting so grown-up. When the heck did THAT happen??? Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin

Love that ball, nice idea for bowl fillers for next year.
I love having the critters visiting, nice to sit out and watch them when I need to relax.

Love the ball idea and the bird pictures. It makes a nice 4th of July decoration like you said and lucky you to get this nice fur bear as a gift. Jake sure seem to have grown some nice new teeth this summer. He looks older too. I bet he must have grown a few inches like my grandson. He's taller than me now. How fast they grow.

Hugs, JB

That ball looks so nice and it would look great around the fourth. I never can get very good bird shots at all, they all see me coming and fly away.
What a handsome young man.
I hope you have a great week!

I need to find a birdbath that the raccoons won't tip over. They have their own water bowl but they still break my baths. Sweet bear. And teeth.

I think Ruth is a artist I've meet.Back when I was young and just starting out (and very poor LoL)I came across her at a street fair.I just loved her bears but couldn't afford any.She let me take 2 on good faith and send her a little each month towards them.I didn't ask her she just thought I should have them. That was probly 20 years ago.Yours looks like her style so maybe the same artist. Thanks for the memory.Warm Blessings!~Amy

Cool idea about the ball!!!!!!! Wonderful bear, I've made them but don't enjoy the process, yet I love looking at them and owning them.

Jake is looking all grown up with a mouthful of teeth.
