Progress ~ or lack of...

Just thought I would take a quick minute and show everyone that I really have been working on a few things.
I can count on one hand the number of things I've cross stitched in the last two decades. I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed it. I'd also forgotten how much I don't like filling in large areas...lol! I am currently working on a Stacy Nash design - Tombstone Angel ~ on 28 count linen. I am FINALLY nearing the end of the angel's wings. I feel like I've been stitching on them forever. Thankfully the wings are not perfectly symmetrical because I've made an error or two on the right wing, but I think no one will notice.
I had so much fun punching Pat Cross' Bird Dog that I decided to do another one. Not sure why because there are plenty of other designs I'd like to do.
And finally ~ ~ ~ my hooked rug. At last I've gotten back to pulling a few loops and have made a little {very little} progress.

It's not often I reverse hook. I usually learn to like the wool I've hooked, but that wool under the red horse's front legs has got to go. I like the color but don't like the look of the loops. I'm guessing because it's a solid color. Oh, how I wish I could pull all my loops even...sigh.
It looks like we've got two more days of our heat wave and if we're lucky maybe some rain on Friday and/or Saturday. It would be most welcome.
Thank you so much for stopping by. I do appreciate everyone who takes the time to share in my world.
Pug hugs :)
Lauren

You have lots of great projects on the go. I like them all. That little angel would make a cute rug too. Looks like our heat wave will end Friday night as hurricane Earl is still barreling right towards us. I guess tomorrow I should shop for necessities. I am still hoping it might change course.

Love all your projects Lauren. I know what you mean about fill-in - it always seems like it lasts forever, but your Angel is looking great. Love your rugs too and your loops look all the same to me, but I do agree on changing out the wool. I think that I need to get back to this and have you give me lessons. I thought my loops were terrible, but I know it comes with practice. I think yours are perfect.

Your birddog rug looks like it would be a fun one to do and kind of looks like our new puppy (if it was apricot color).

I love the cross stitch. I use to cross stitch when i was first married a loooooooong time ago.
what size is your wool? I like your hooking. It looks like a real person hooked it not a machine. love it.

I share the same sentiment with you about cross stitch! LOL! The samplers with many small motifs are so much more enjoyable to do than big solid areas. You're making me want to np one of those Pat Cross pups! :-) Love how the horse rug is coming along!!! I recently read (somewhere) that solid color wools show every loop clearly... I've since stopped using solids... LOL! Thanks for sharing all your creative updates! You're inspiring me to stop my housework for today and sit and stitch/hook instead! LOL! :-)
